Police to invite Wizkid, Davido over drug, cult

Davido and Wizkid might be invited for questioning over their alleged involvement in drugs and cult-related crimes, police sources said. On the 23rd of June 2017, David Adeleke popularly known as Davido had posted a photo, announcing a new haircut, in honour of a cult group, Neo Black Movement known as Black Axe.

The post which generated a high number of comments was condemned by some of his fans. On the other hand, Wizkid, real names, Ayo Balogun, who doesn’t want to be left behind, also posted on photo that shows a remnant of white substance, alleged to be drugs on the table. These posts generated nationwide outrage and they are yet to be deleted by both parties.

In a new development, the Nigeria police have reacted to what has been described by many as childish, illegal and unworthy behaviour. Speaking with RazzleDazzle, a senior police officer who doesn’t want to be named on print, said, no person will be allowed to violate the rules of the land adding that the attention of the agency has been brought to the post, “Our attention have been brought to the artistes and their posts on social media and our men are on it. We will invite them over for questioning and do the needful if they are found guilty.

While the police force is not out to deny anybody the right of expression on social media or anywhere, it will not allow any person to go out of the law. That is all I can say for now, and please don’t mention my name, I am not authourised to speak to the media on this” the source said
